you gotta use a metal vented brush and press the hair dryer against it when brushing your hair straight. try using a hair product. do you know what she puts on it before she styles it? you may want to ask her. Im not sure about your hair but with mine i use a smoothing cream. sounds like you need bedhead smoothing cream specifically made for flyaways and crazy split ends and it works just dont use a lot. you can also search around for other products, frizz ease serum, or possibly something oil based
