Does a marijuana plant need direct sunlight to live?

ok so this morning my plant came out the dirt in my pot. Up till now ive had the pot wrapped in clingwrap and in the dark(read online it works and it did). Then this morning when i saw it was out the dirt i put it in my window. When i first stuck it there it was sticking straight up. But now like 3 hours later its starting to lean like its dieing... im not sure it is tho...the thing is tho that where my window is part of the day that side of the house is in shade...i mean its still getting light just not like it would if it was sittin in the middle of the yard. So my question is does my plant need to be moved to better sunlight or can it live as it is?
