Friend avoids me for a month..then comes back??? Help?

I didnt hear from my friend for a whole month which isnt the part that got me mad. The part that did get me mad is when i finally heard from him. He called me and we started to talk and i asked him wheres he been the last couple of weeks. He told me "Ive been dodgin", me and my friend say this all the time it basically means - Ive been avoiding you. He told me he was been playing call of duty for the p month. Which i could understand but i also play on xbox live. The point is he has been my friend for 7 years and out of the blue he just stops communicating with me, and then tries to come back like everything is all good. The only reason why im so mad is that if i were doing this (which i wouldnt) i would call him or at least text him, i wouldnt just stop communications, but i want to know what u guys think.
