Are Blutooth keyboard dependable?

I got a wireless keyboard for Christmas, and its ok but its performance is intermittent at times, I'm not sure what wireless method it uses but i'm 99% its not blutooth, anyways I was wondering if a blutooth one would be more dependable I think it would be since I use ps3 and its con is blutooth and ive had no issues with it before., just want to make sure it will be.
