Is this a good computer Compaq Presario 5140?

you can upgrade the ram and some other stuff but it will not run windows xp very good if at all i tryed to update a windows 98 pc to windows xp and it said it needed a bios update which was hard to find seeing it was an old pc. it was a great pc in its time but kinda slow if you want to major stuff on it.
